I hope you will join me in
thanking Bill Crumpton for his year service as
President of our DFDCFAAA for 2006. It has been a
great year. We had a great Christmas and Awards
dinner on the 9th and congratulations to
Travis Tooker for being named Firefighter of the
Year.
Just imagine this time last
year we were locating housing for the Katrina
Evacuees, time does fly. I will make the final
report to City Council at the December 19th
meeting and we will close that chapter of our
business.
One of the new positions to be
installed at the January meeting is a Historian, and
Richard Raphael has accepted that nomination. This
position will need a lot of assistance from all of
us to establish and organize a product that will
preserve our history for years to come.
I want to extend my
congratulation to Jack Hodge for accepting the
position of 2007 President of the DFDCFAAA I am
looking forward to working with the new
administration during the 2007 year.
As always, please keep your
Firefighter in your prayers and please pause during
this holiday season to remember those serving in our
military that are protecting our safety and freedom.
Without these dedicated men and women we would not
be enjoying the comforts and peaceful time with our
families.
God Bless each of you and
America
Until next
time, be safe. h

Ken Carmona, President
The Firefighters Association appreciates the
tremendous response the Citizens Fire Academy has
had over the last year. We feel it is a great
opportunity to let the people who live here in our
city get a better understanding of what it is like
to be a firefighter/paramedic through classes, hands
on training, ride outs, and spending a few hours
with the guys on duty.
The Firefighters Association is currently
constructing a float for this years Christmas parade
which is to be held on Dec. 1st. We encourage all
CFA members current and alumni to help and be a part
of this project.
Our annual Family Christmas/Awards dinner is
December 9th at the Church of Christ. This is a time
of year where our families have a chance to get
together and catch up with one another. Also it is a
time that we honor selected firefighters/paramedics
for their accomplishments throughout the year. We
extend an invitation to the CFA to attend as well
since we now consider you a part of our family.
