EVENTS

 

This page is to display past and present events of the DCFAAA .  Please choose an event that  would be of interest, and participate.  If there is not a person listed in charge of the event please contact anyone from the board of directors.

 

 

 

Citizen Fire Academy classes- Class training is held for 12 weeks in different venues

  • Objective to assist with bringing food on the days of the class. to assist with the class during events such as the smoke house and the burn house bring and serve water etc., help with moving equipment, preparing, cleaning up, help the class members getting bunker gear on and off.
  • Dress-wear alumni polo shirt where appropriate, dress for the event and the weather on outside events

 

Chief Birthday party- the chief auctions off a birthday party for a child and the child's friends.

  • Objective: to assist with setting up, serving and cleanup for the event.
  • Dress-wear alumni polo shirt

 

Chief breakfast- The chief auctions off a breakfast for a group.

  • Objective: to assist with setting up the even, represent DCFAA, cook and serve the individuals that are present for the breakfast.  to assist cleaning up afterwards.  Usually there is enough food prepared to feed those that help.
    Dress- wear alumni polo shirt.

 

Christmas Parade-The Duncanville fire department usually makes and displays a float in the parade.

  • Objective:  to assist with building the Christmas parade float on designated days and then participate in the parade at the direction of the Chief and Travis Tooker.
  • Dress-alumni polo shirt and other weather related Christmas clothing or as suggested by the fire department.

 

Fund raiser

Kramer Games-April 12, 2008, need 5-6 people to keep score (tally) at the games approximately 8 am to 12 pm, food and fun available.
Ft. Worth,  hosted by Ken Carmona.  The games go to 12 midnight, but needed only till approximately
12 noon, we are welcome to stay longer.  Bring a lawn chair if you wish.

Ken has asked us to be there by 7:15 AM

This is a fund raiser event for Duncanville Fire Captain Tim Riffe, who has cancer.

Go to Registration desk at 3400 Bryant Irving rd., Ft. Worth, TX. 76109 and let them know that you are with the DCFAAA
as a score keeper,  Ken Carmona should be there for your assignment.

Lunch and group pictures will be at the golf course approximately at 1:00 PM

  • Objective is to tally the score at a couple of games, Ken Carmona assures us that it is easy with fun and food available.
    Funds will be donated to the DCFAAA depending on participation.  Contact Ken Carmona or Lyle Hodge @ 972-296-1774,

  • Dress is casual, shorts ok, recommend wear DCFAAA polo shirt.

 

 

Health Fair-is hosted by the Duncanville Fire Department  October 4, 2008 at Armstrong Park

  • Objective: to assist with setting up the event, represent DCFAA and complete tasks asked by the health fair director, man the DCFAA booth, answer questions and hand out literature.
  • Dress- wear alumni polo shirt

 

July 4th Parade-The Duncanville fire department usually makes and displays a float in the parade.

  • Objective is to assist with building the July 4th parade float on designated days and then participate in the parade at the direction of the Chief and Travis Tooker.
  • Dress-alumni polo shirt and other weather appropriate holiday clothing or as suggested by the fire department.

 

Taste of Duncanville:  Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Duncanville High School, 4-9 pm

  • Objective: is to man the Duncanville Fire Station booth, meet and greet the people, hand out information and answer questions on the Duncanville Citizen Fire Academy and the Duncanville Fire Department.
  • Dress- wear alumni polo shirt

 

Victims-the Duncanville fire department will stage training events to be announced  throughout the year.

  • Objective is to play a victim at the training event, this will involve doing what the event director asks of you. 
  • Dress-clothes appropriate for the weather and event, ask if event director if there are questions, usually you will get
  •  

    Ride for Riffe-Duncanville fire department along with Livestrong is hosting a bicycle ride from Corpus Christi starting September 28th and arrive at Duncanville Armstrong Park October 4th and end at the Health Fair.

         Objective is to raise money for fellow Duncanville Fire fighter Tim Riffe.
